Festival: Lightweight Cloth with Refined Performance for Modern Tailoring

Festival: Lightweight Cloth with Refined Performance for Modern Tailoring

Decades of British weaving expertise.

The Festival bunch is a lightweight collection of Merino wool and Super 120’s wool with 5% mohair. Woven in our mill, the bunch reflects decades of British weaving expertise and a meticulous approach to fabric performance.

Festival combines a lighter handle with precise construction to provide a cloth that is both durable and workable. The fibre, and blend enhances resilience and supports a fluid drape, allowing garments to maintain their shape without stiffness. The natural properties of Merino wool and mohair provide breathability and moisture management, ensuring comfort across a range of climates and environments.

Weights for Festival range from 235gms to 260gms, offering tailors flexibility for a variety of garments, from lightweight business suits to summer jacketing and casual tailored separates. Despite its lighter feel, the weave is robust, providing resistance to creasing while retaining a soft, smooth handle. This balance of weight, drape, and durability ensures the fabric can be manipulated with confidence during cutting, patterning, and pressing.

The finishing of Festival uses the high mineral content of Yorkshire water, a traditional technique that enhances the fabric’s handle, resilience, and stability. This controlled finishing process ensures each metre delivers consistent performance, improving garment longevity and reliability. Tailors can work with the cloth efficiently, knowing that the fabric will behave predictably in the pressing and construction stages.

Precise tailoring without compromise.

From fibre selection, and weaving, to finishing, Standeven’s craftsmen maintain strict quality controls at every stage. The result is a cloth that is not only durable and comfortable but also responds consistently under the tools and techniques used by skilled tailors. Its properties make it suitable for garments requiring precision, ensuring the finished product meets the highest standards of drape, silhouette, and finish.

Festival allows for precise tailoring without compromise. Its combination of lightweight structure, crease resistance, and fluid drape enables garments to perform well in different climates while maintaining sharp lines and a refined appearance. This makes it a practical choice for cloth that delivers both reliability and refined handling.

Standeven’s Festival bunch exemplifies the brand’s commitment to producing fabrics that meet the exacting needs. Designed for efficiency, performance, and quality, it is a lightweight cloth that performs reliably while offering the refined characteristics expected of British-made fabrics.
